Configuring Thunderbird™

Step One: Go to http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/thunderbird/ to download the latest
version of Thunderbird. Thunderbird is a free email/news client.

Step Two: After installing thunderbird, you will be asked to add a new account.

Step Three: This will take you to the new account setup wizard pictured below. Select
Newsgroup Account and click Next.

Step Four: Type your name in the identity field along with your email address.

Remember that if you post replies, this email address will be listed in the header of your post, choose an email address that you don't mind posting publicly.

Step Five: Enter your news server information on this screen.
The format of your news server will be similar to news.yourusenetnewsprovider.com.

Step Six: Choose an Account Name that you'd like to label as your Newsgroup Account, and click Next.

Step Seven: You're almost finished. Verify all the information. If you need to edit this
info, click the back button, if you are finished, click the Finish button.

Step Eight: What you will see now is the Thunderbird screen. On the bottom left of
the left pane window, you will see your news client service listed. Click your news client name and you'll see a Newsgroups screen.

You are now configured for Usenet Newsgroups Access.

From this screen you can manage and search your newsgroup subscriptions. Have Fun!
